These Are the 5 Surprising Cars Teens Actually WANT To Drive

Cars teens want: it doesn’t have to be a mystery.

After hours behind the wheel practicing, your son or daughter finally gets the opportunity to post a soon-to-be well-liked selfie with their new driver’s license on social media. Although you’re excited for them, you’re a little nervous.  Part of you is also relieved – another driver to complete errands and pick up anything from groceries to other family members.  Before you throw them the keys, though, they already made plans – plans to buy their own car!

We’ve talked about safe cars for young drivers, but those might not always be the cars that your teen will want to drive. Fortunately, some of the most in demand cars for teens are also among the safest on the road. The following made lists for being safe AND in demand, according USA Today and Today.

Here are the cars your teen will actually want  to drive:

1. Volvo S80

The price is right for this unusual yet sleek Volvo with luxury and safety features galore.

2. Volkswagen Jetta

You can’t beat the price for a sturdy, sporty, and reliable vehicle like this. One of the bestselling cars in the United States, according to Edmund’s, it pretty much offers anything you’d want in a car.

3. Honda Element

This crossover is a little on the boxy side, but it’s reliable and spacious for teens on the go who want some room.  With Honda’s reputation you know it’s reliable, but did you know that those who reside in cities love the car for its small size and roomy interior.

4. Volvo XC90

You cannot find a more reasonable price for this crossover that’s sturdy with plenty of room for other passengers.  Mixing safety and luxury is a quality you can expect from this car.

5. Chevrolet Traverse

Known for its safety, plush accommodations and a large size comparable to most minivans (kryptonite for the majority of teen drivers).
